Sustainable, eco-biological krill fishing

ProVidaX® Krill HC is gained from a small shellfish with the name Euphausia superba ("krill") through sustainable, eco-biological and internationally controlled fishing in the Antarctic. The krill fishing is carried out using the patented "Eco Harvesting™" processing technology of the manufacturer Aker Biomarine. The basic feature of the Eco-Harvesting method is the connecting of the trawl net with the ship via a hosepipe. At the end of the trawl net there is another sluice / special net which ensure that only the krill are sucked in. Then, by means of water, the krill are pumped directly on board via the tube and are processed. Thus it is ensured that always only fresh raw material is used. The system makes it possible to keep the net under water during the entire operation. The krill are not pulled on board in the net, therefore, which avoids them being crushed and valuable nutrients being destroyed. Unwanted by-catches are reduced virtually to zero with this method.
